Make Great Coffee Using a French Press

1.Boil water using a kettle or any other means you have to boil water.

2.While the water is boiling measure ~1 tablespoon of whole coffee beans per 4-6 ounces of water you will be placing in your French press. Over time you can adjust the quantity of coffee beans based on your taste.

3.Grind the coffee beans using a coarse setting on your grinder - for the most consistent grounds use a Burr grinder. Capresso makes some great reasonably priced machines.

4.Place the coffee grounds in your French Press.

5.Slowly add boiling water to the french press - do not add water beyond the start of the spout.

6.Place cover on french press - DO NOT push plunger down. Let it sit for 4-6 minutes - once again adjust this time period to your taste - experiment...

7.After the desired elapsed time has passed press the plunger down - DO NOT remove cover. Pour coffee in a cup and enjoy!

8.Experiment with different kinds of beans to find out what kind of coffee you like - dark or light roast, etc...
