1.First of all, it goes without saying that you always start with a clean coffee maker. Thoroughly clean it after each use. From time to time I like to run plain cold water through a few cycles without the coffee. You might also add a little vinegar to the water as well. This will help remove any buildup.
2.Add some cold, purified water to your coffee maker. Be sure to follow the measuring instructions to get the right coffee to water ratio. Go ahead and grind your whole beans to the desired coarseness. Remember, the longer you grind, the finer the "grains" and the stronger your flavor will be. Check the instructions that came with your grinder; it may shed some light on how to adjust the brew.
3.Next, add your freshly ground beans to the filter. You are now ready for the "secret" ingredient which will help remove any bitter taste as the coffee is brewing: And the secret ingredient is...a pinch of SALT!!! Yes, add a pinch of salt right on top of the grounds BEFORE you start to brew. I don't know what the magic is, I just know it makes that bitter aftertaste disappear. Now, enjoy your freshly brewed, bitter-free coffee...and tell all your friends!
