Brew the Perfect Cup of Coffee
It's easy to brew the perfect cup of coffee with a few extra steps. Using a coffee maker may make it seem like making the perfect cup of coffee will be as simple as pouring water, measuring coffee, and flipping a switch. However, it's not always that simple. Below are a few tips to make that perfect cup of coffee, or fix a problem you're currently having with bitter or rancid tasting coffee.
1.Always make sure your coffeemaker is clean. Residual oil inside of a coffeemaker can become rancid, which is a common cause for bad brews of coffee.
2.If you're using tap water, always run the water a minute first, this helps avoid bad water with build up in the pipes.
3.Be sure to measure the coffee properly, 1 Tablespoon of ground coffee per every 6 ounces of water.
4.Put the coffee into the filter, and do not pack it down.
5.Now it's time to add the water, if you're heating the water by hand aim for water between 190 and 210 desgrees.
6.If you're using an automatic drip coffeemaker, stir the coffee before serving. If not, the stronger coffee will only be on the bottom. If using a french press, avoid using the coffee at the very bottom of the carafe, which is where bitter residue ends up.
